Lily's Amazing Beach Day

The car door swings open and Lily gasps. There it is — the ocean, stretching out wide and glittering like a million tiny diamonds under the morning sun. The salty breeze tickles her nose and she wiggles her toes free from her sandals, feeling the warm sand squeeze between them like soft, golden sugar. "It's so big," Lily whispers, her eyes round as seashells. Waves tumble and crash along the shore, foamy and white, racing each other to the beach before sliding back again. Seagulls swoop overhead, calling out as if to say, *come play with us!* Lily clutches her bright yellow bucket and takes one brave step forward, then another. The sand shifts beneath her feet, warm on top but cool and damp underneath. She spots something shimmering near the water's edge — a shell, pale pink and perfectly spiraled, half-buried in the wet sand. She kneels down and reaches for it carefully, her heart thumping with excitement. But just then, a wave rushes toward her, bubbling and hissing, closer and closer and...
